In the sacrament of Baptism we received the name of a saint to become our protector and guide throughout our life.  As each of us grows in age and grace it is an opportunity to become dear friends with our patron saint.  We can read more about him or her in the many Lives of the Saints books that have been written, or possibly even read the saint's own writings.  And, of course, we should talk to our patron saint often in prayer and ask for his or her assistance.

Did you know that in 19th century France it was the Catholic custom to add the name of Mary for girls and Joseph for boys?  For example, one might be called Mary Therese or Joseph John for their baptism saints.  In the 20th century in France the name Therese was often added as a middle name for girls, in honor of St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

Our Patron Saint Holy Card has a beautiful image of your saint and a special prayer to help you remain dear friends and to ask him or her to aid you in the virtuous life.

Printed on ivory cardstock, 3.25" x 5.25".
