A few years ago, this Enthronement of the Sacred Heart Certificate was commissioned by the Legion of Mary at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Church in Westwood, KS in hopes that more families would invite Jesus to reign in their hearts and home.

The modern day Apostle of the Sacred Heart, the Ven. Fr. Mateo Crawley-Boevey, SS. CC. explained a family enthronement by saying:  The Enthronement is Our Lord coming into the home to claim there the first place, as formerly during His apostolic wanderings He asked hospitality at Bethany.  He asks the place of honour for He is a King and must reign over each family so as to reign that much sooner in society.  He asks for an intimate and familiar place, for He is the friend of the family and He wishes to rule over it through His Heart.  To sanctify the family is the overall goal of every apostolate; since it is the social cell, it must be the first living throne of the King of Love....the ceremony takes place in the home and demands the presence of the priest, the official representative of the Church.  (Excerpted from The Firebrand by Marcel Bocquet, SS. Of the great good a home enthronement does, Fr. Lukas Etlin, O.S.B. of Conception, Missouri said:  I am convinced that the spreading of the practise of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in families will be a powerful influence to renew the Christian spirit in the home....God seemes to will that the reign of the Sacred Heart in the home is to be the most effective means to accomplish this restoration of Christian families!  (Excerpted from The Firebrand by Marcel Bocquet, SS. This Enthronement Certificate is a crusade of love.  The image of Christ the King reminds us that He is our rightful King, a border of red crosses symbolises Christian Life under the King of Heaven and Earth, while the words of St. John Paul II to families edifies and instills devotion.  The head of the family inscribes the family name and date, all the family members and the priest officiating the ceremony sign after.  At the bottom is a list of ways to honour the enthronement and obtain Christ's continued blessing on the family.
