St. Catherine of Siena was a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic, and through the contemplative life of prayer she was then led by God to the active life of charity, working for the welfare of the Catholic Church.  She was instrumental in returning Pope Gregory the XI to Rome, and ending residency of the Papacy in Avignon, France.  St. Catherine of Siena's pious example offers us a guide for loving God with all our hearts and living the sacramental life within our everday lives.
