Sacred Heart of Jesus Litany Card
This deluxe sized holy card features the litany and a vintage lithograph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The litany of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus was approved in 1899 by Pope Leo XIII, and was compiled from 17 invocations composed by the spiritual director of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, as well as others from the 17th and 18th centuries, to make a total of 33 invocations, one for each year of Our Lord's life.
A heart is the symbol of love and the passion and death of Jesus on the cross on Good Friday, redeemed us from our sins and reconciled us to God. Fr. Croiset, the spiritual director of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, recommended every Friday one should offer the day to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Families can make it a habit to recite the Litany of the Sacred Heart slowly and thoughtfully every Friday.
