The Roman Catechism - Catechism of the Council of Trent

The Roman or Tridentine Catechism has remained the gold standard and most authoritative through the ages as it was issued and translated by order of Pope St. Pius V.  Saint Charles Borromeo supervised the council in the 16th century and executed its decrees.   Pope Clement XIII issued a Bull, June 14, 1763 and decreed the Catechism of Trent contained a clear explanation of all that was necessary for salvation and useful for the faithful. Holy Ghost, speaking to us.... It was composed by order of the Fathers of Trent under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, and was published by the authority of the Vicar of Christ (Pope St. Pius V)."
