St. Catherine of Siena was a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic, and through the contemplative life of prayer she was then led by God to the active life of charity, working for the welfare of the Catholic Church.  She was instrumental in returning Pope Gregory the XI to Rome, and ending residency of the Papacy in Avignon, France.  St. Catherine of Siena's pious example offers us a guide for loving God with all our hearts and living the sacramental life within our everday lives.

The St. Catherine of Siena Prayer Card features a vintage image on the front of the card and your choice from three options for the reverse.  1.) Prayer to the Precious Blood of Jesus, by St. Catherine of Siena.  2.) Prayer to the Trinity, from On Divine Providence, by St. Catherine of Siena.  3.) A Saying on Charity, by St. Catherine of Siena and information on her life.

St. Joan of Arc, who is the Patroness of France, was called by St. Michael, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret to deliver France from the English.  For five years she won many victories until eventually she was captured the enemy.   She was put on a mock trial, falsely accused of heresy, judged and condemned to death.   Throughout the whole ordeal she remained steadfast in her faith and love of the King of Heaven and repeated His Holy Name and gazed at a cross while her enemies burnt her as a heretic.  She was declared innocent by Pope Callistus III in 1456 and finally was canonized a saint by Pope Benedict XV in 1920.  Let us follow St. Joan of Arc's example and remain steadfast in our Faith throughout all the trials and tribulations of our lives.

These St. Joan of Arc Prayer Cards feature your choice between two vintage images with a Prayer for Faith on the back.

St. George is the patron saint of England, soldiers and boy scouts.  St. George was a tribune in the Roman army under the Emperor Diocletion but when the persecution was started against Christians, he courageously resigned his place in the army and rebuked the emperor for his harsh treatment of the Christians.  Diocletion offered St. George great gifts if he would renounce his Christian Faith, but he stayed true throughout and was then tortured and beheaded.

The St. George Holy Card features a vintage image of the saint fighting a dragon and includes an excerpt from a sermon by St. Peter Damian on the reverse side.

All through the ages the saints have shown the importance of making Spiritual Communions.  St. Francis de Sales and St. Angela Merici made it a custom to make many Spiritual Communions and advised others to do so.  Padre Pio advised, "In the course of the day, when it is not permitted you to do otherwise, call on Jesus, even in the midst of all your occupations, with a resigned sigh of the soul and He will come and will remain always united with your soul by means of His grace and His holy love."  Jesus Himself told St. Catherine of Siena, "In this golden chalice i put your sacramental Communions.  In this silver chalice I put your spiritual Communions.  Both chalices are quite pleasing to Me."  And to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Jesus said, "So dear to Me is a soul's desire to receive Me, that I hasten to it each time it summons Me by its yearnings."

Our Spiritual Communion Prayer Cards feature an excellent Spiritual Communion prayer composed by St. Alphonsus Liguori and the words of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary on the back.  For the front of the holy card you can make your choice from two beautiful vintage images of Angels and the Holy Eucharist.

St. Bernard, the 12th century Cistercian abbot of Clairvaux whose feast day is August 20th, is known as the Mellifluous Doctor of the Middle Ages for his sweet manner, few spoken words, and skill of getting to the heart of the matter.  He would read Holy Scripture while gazing out upon the French countryside and meditate on God's Word.  This enabled him to write on many subjects including the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Holy Name of Mary, St. Joseph, the Guardian Angels, ushering in many devotions popular to this day.

The St. Bernard of Clairvaux Holy Card features a beautiful vintage image from the late 1800's on the front of the card.  On the reverse side is an excerpt from St. Bernard on the Holy Name of Mary, beginning: In dangers, in doubts, in difficulties, Think of Mary, Call upon Mary. St. Rose of Lima Holy Card

These three large holy cards capture the spirit of St. Rose of Lima for your edification.  St. Rose of Lima had an ardent love for God and zeal to win many souls back to Him.  She became a Third Order Dominican and her hermitage was the garden in her parent's backyard.  St. Rose chose St. Catherine of Siena to be her model in her love of God and neightbor.  Let St. Rose of Lima be an example for us, following her lead in calling down mercy on our fellow men and bring them back to God.  A priest once stated that in reading the lives of the saints, one becomes what one reads.  St. Rose of Lima is the Patroness of Peru and the Blessed Mother renamed Rose in her childhood, Rose of St. Mary.  We ask you Rose of St. Mary to look upon the inhabitants of North America that we may let our hearts be open to the influence of God's Grace.

St. Hildegard Holy Card

St. Hildegard of Bingen was a 12th century German Benedictine Abbess and mystic who was given light from God to write and defend the Catholic Church.  "God be in my head, and in my being.  God be in my mind, and understanding. God be in my eyes, and in my seeing.  God be in my ears, and in my hearing.  God be in my mouth, and in my speaking.  God be in my heart, and in my thinking."  This 17th century prayer by Philip Howard, Earl of Arundel, sums up the spirituality of St. Hildegard.  Christ gave knowledge to St. Hildegard and instructed her to listen and write.  From these visions she composed a prayer book, a music book, and two medical books.  She was God's messenger and denounced corruption among the church leaders of her day.  In 2012, Pope Benedict XVI formally canonized her as a saint and declared St. Hildegard a Doctor of the Church.

The Saint Hildegard Holy Card features a beautiful vintage image of the saint on the front of the card.  On the back is a short account of her life and a couple of quotes including Exodus 4, 12.
